Day 3 in the Isolation house…
I am as surprised as you that I am managing to stick to the blogs, as well as the daily home workouts. Today was a dance workout. Dancing is not something that comes naturally to the Raynor’s but we giggled through the grapevines and managed not to knock any teeth out while flailing our arms out of time – so that’s a success right?
Amy and I had a very quick outing into Daventry to pick up a few groceries. I naively expected a ghost town so was surprised by just how many people were about. People need to shop, walk their dogs, I get it. However, I was taken aback by the large groups of people who’d taken to moving Costa onto the public benches, casually enjoying their take away coffees without a care in the world. This blog is ultimately to focus on the silver linings but I couldn’t help but feel disappointed by the carelessness of some individuals. I did feel a funny sense of pride when anyone tactfully dodged out of my way, the only time in my life I won’t question someone actively trying to avoid me.
We did see some excellent four-legged friends in town too… SILVER LININGS PEOPLE. Oh and we did find everything we wanted – more on that tomorrow!
Mum and Dad spent a good chunk of the day collecting logs from the wood to keep us cosy. Dad’s DIY tractor survived three trips there and back to the wood, farmer badge has officially been unlocked. Mum was very smug with her 10,000 steps, smug quarantine exerciser badge has officially been unlocked.
Yesterday I was questioning whether we had reached our peak? Well, this evenings entertainment was Bingo, so I think that speaks for itself. This wasn’t your average Beacon Bingo and Orange squash however; we watched the ‘Bongo Bingo’ live stream. In short, your bingo numbers are generated via your phone number being divided into two-digit numbers and you play along with the chance to win prizes such as a David Attenborough Cut out or a Henry Hoover. It’s free to watch and play – you just need a pen, paper and access to WhatsApp. Would definitely recommend for a bit of a silly escape from reality. There were also segments of quizzes, Jack absolutely smashed us on the Disney song quiz (Amy is still getting over that one). Bingo, bevs and a bowl of nuts – you can’t really complain about that on a Saturday night.
