It’s been the week of celebrating mum (good job she’s a cracker)
Mum opened her cards and presents first thing this morning. I will insert a picture of Amy’s card because it had us crying with laughter in the shop, it’s perfect on so many levels. We bought mum a handmade ceramic yarn bowl – we didn’t know these existed either. It holds your ball of yarn in while you knit, with a cut out for the yarn to be pulled out of. (It also looks like a chicken)
Jack, bravely, agreed to join in our morning workout. Instant regret after the first set of squats. ‘If my booty isn’t popping after this’ he yelped while on our second set of horrific leg and bum exercises. The thought of what was to come today managed to power us through till the end… scones.
Amy Berry decided to put together an afternoon tea for mum, with help from her kitchen aids Megan and Jack. She had the challenge of making it veggie as well as having GF options but she came through! We braved using the ‘good plates’ that had probably sat in the cupboard for 10 years but she needed that aesthetic Instagram content. It was a delicious array of sandwiches, homemade scones and quiches and cakes provided from the Artisan Bakery where Amy has previously worked called Bread and Circus (The creme egg cronut was crafted by gods). With Alexa set to play ‘smooth jazz’, it was extremely ‘extra’ but very worth the piles of washing up.
We decided to work this off by taking a walk to see the cows. We convinced Jack that wellies would be a better idea than his white trainers, we’re slowly getting him into that country life. He subsequently had a photoshoot by the tractor ready for when he drops his country bumpkin mixtape. The cows were very pleased to see us and very vocal when we said goodbye, they can’t hack this social distancing either.
