Jack joined us again for the morning workout and we chose to do an abs and arms one, to alleviate our aching butts. Mum and Amy have been using 1kg dumbbells, myself on 2kg which meant that Jack was left with the 6kg pair. He’s far from weak but it is was not a workout designed for heavy weights and I think 10 reps in he was regretting his life choices. We were all impressed that he managed to stick it through to the end – I don’t think his biceps will be able to fit through the door.
It was another day of getting on with our own work – Jack taking on his new job title as videographer. Amy, mum and I however did decide to break up the day by venturing out the confines of the farm (scary stuff) and we took the hour round trip to the post box. I was half expecting it to feel like a ghost town when we got to the end of our lane but there were still cars and people working in and around the industrial estate. It’s not the most picturesque of walks but we did see the daffodils blooming by the side of the road and someone had written on the pavement ‘Stay Positive, Keep Smiling’ – a little thing that was massively appreciated. Amy could have done with that mantra on the way back when she was faced with the big hill, all of our glutes were on fire. Mum got her 11,000 steps which she is still buzzing about.
Sourdough pizza with sourdough garlic bread was demolished for dinner – for a gluten sensitive gal like me, sourdough is my saviour. Mum also found some Christmas party food GF cheesey muffins in the back of the freezer which were delicious. We’ve found out that our weekly food delivery has been cancelled, something which we were very grateful for but it was a bit too good to be true. I think mum is a little bit excited about being able to venture into town at some point – probably to get away from us!
We love Tuesday night telly at the moment. Bake off was particularly good last night if not slightly dramatic with sliced fingers and smashing kitchen aids – slightly triggering for Amy who’s kitchen aid is her pride and joy.
