We made it to two weeks!
Gotta begin with some sad news.. unfortunately, Jack has somehow managed to strain/pull/do something painful to his back. He’s having to rest up at the moment and for the foreseeable, therefore Jack antics will be kept to a minimum in the coming blogs. He’s putting on a brave face and is very grateful for Disney + and Sally’s meals – I’m the new Deliveroo.
There was only two of us for the morning exercise – Mum is the only one who’s managed to do it every single day! We did some yoga – I have always enjoyed yoga but I’ve never appreciated it more than I have over the past few weeks. We’ve followed a few videos from ‘Madfit’ as well as ‘Yoga with Adriene’ who has a very calming aura (as well as a very cute doggo.) Maybe I’ll become one of these yoga freaks who goes on yoga residentials and doesn’t leave the house without my crystals.
Amy’s bake today was Soda bread… when you can’t buy any, gotta make some. The yeast in our cupboard is questionably old therefore she settled on soda bread because apparently it doesn’t contain yeast. I tried a little, because although it does not contain yeast it still does contain Gluten, my verdict was that it was quite salty and tasted a bit like a scone – but it was good! The rest of the family enjoyed their sandwiches on soda bread for lunchtime.
The deers were back out today, they are getting quite brave and venturing further across the field – have to say their garden landscaping is making pretty slow progress. We have also had an influx of rabbits, including baby rabbits which have also been enjoying playing in the garden. There was a really sweet moment where the female deer and a baby rabbit were eating alongside each other, perfectly content in each other’s company and we couldn’t help but think of Bambi and Thumper. Mum and I were feeling a bit housebound so we decided we needed a stroll – this sadly scared the deers away, they aren’t the most chatty. It was warm despite the miserable-looking skies, we appreciated a change of scenery and a chat (the hill was still a bit of a strain on the old glutes).
We watched The Undateables in the evening, it pulled on our heartstrings and made Amy feel very single. After watching it we added ‘Afternoon tea on a narrowboat’ to the Quarantine Activity jar after seeing how relaxing it looked on the programme. Maybe for now we will have to make do with a flask of tea and soggy sandwiches in the bath.
