Bit of a late one today… have been doing some online socialising (ooh get us!), you can hear about the hilarity of that tomorrow.
As Monday’s go, it started a bit ‘meh’. I didn’t feel ready and raring to go so I decided to cut myself a bit of slack rather than trying to power on with being productive and it was definitely a good decision. Mum had an early trip into town (more on that later) so Amy and I did separate workouts because of our different aching body parts. I did an arm workout, I tried to replicate what I do at the gym with dumbells -couldn’t hack the cheese and smiles of the home workout videos.
We’ve avoided the supermarkets up until now but with a very bare fridge, mum took one for the team. She said it was a bit of a stressful experience, navigating her way through the sporadically stocked aisles. She did a good job though and our fridge is looking a lot less sad. We did have a bit of drama when she thought she’d left one of the bags (with very exciting contents) hanging on the trolley but all was well and Jack will still get his at-home Chinese takeaway.
The most excitement of the day was watching the Great Toad Adventure of 2020. We cheered on the toads as they made the long journey down the garden and towards the lake. Some triumphed, some did not. Some made the journey with their lazy husbands on their back (we’ll call it a piggyback and leave it at that). This particularly pair headed towards the wall, realised they couldn’t climb it, manoeuvred next to it and fell dramatically off the step – riveting entertainment.
So you’ve got more than pictures of toads, not the prettiest of creatures, I’ve included some prettier floral pictures. The tulips are a birthday present for mum which she hasn’t yet received so her friend Sharon is looking after them and sending her updates – the next best thing. The other bunch of flowers is one that myself and my pal Lizzie sent to our lovely friend Jodi to put a smile on her face. We sent it through a company called Bloom and Wild who send the bouquets in postbox size packages and you arrange them yourself. They have a beautiful array of flowers and feel like it’s a great way to show someone you’re thinking of them in these times, the next best thing to a virtual cuddle.
