Dear Isolation #33

A new blog, a new week. What week are we on now? I’ve lost track.

Started Monday off with a bum and abs workout, I was gonna say the two most excruciating body parts to work out but which bits aren’t? We were saying how ripped we’d be if it wasn’t for the fact Amy keeps filling the house with baked goods.

I had a truly exciting morning sorting out my taxes. There really isn’t much more to say about that… no banter in dealing with HMRC. Amy has started to be set some uni work now too, so she had equal amounts of fun with her readings. She’s got a 9am seminar tomorrow, getting the vibe that she isn’t too excited about that either.

The walk with Amy and mum was well needed after this, especially with the sunshine and clear skies. We took a detour to see the lambs, who weren’t as friendly today and much more focused on eating (can’t blame them!). One of them however was enjoying chasing a chicken which was funny to watch. We did our usual loop around the woods, it was pretty blustery on the way there but was lovely and warm in the shelter of the woods. Mum was filming as we went, to send to Grandma (or she’s secretly becoming a vlogger behind our backs). She did take a very aesthetically pleasing picture of her breakfast, maybe being an influencer is her calling.

In the evening we watched the 3rd National Theatre Live production of Treasure Island. We had mixed opinions on it, Jack and Dad really enjoyed it but Mum and I felt the plot was a bit slow-paced. We all could agree on how incredible the set was though. The HUGE scale set created the ship with the decking lifting up to reveal a to-scale dollhouse of the cabins. The intricacy and enormity of the set was like nothing I’ve seen before in a theatre – to see it in person must have been something else. I would still recommend it, despite not being a massive fan of all the pirate stuff (what were you expecting Megan?)
