Tuesday was a day of productivity (and of course more baked goods)
Mum and I did the morning workout while Amy did some of her own stretches – don’t really blame her. Our four left feet attempted a cardio dance workout of which we got one move right in every 50. The choreography got continually faster and faster (intermittent with ab workouts for extra pain and extra time to forget the moves). Despite all this we did still have a giggle.
My task today was battling the office/craft room. I wish I’d taken a before shot because my after shot now has much less impact but I promise you that it was a shit tip. It took me most of the day to clear the table (with help from Sally) and sort all the cupboards/drawers of all the millions of craft supplies we’ve collected over the years. It was a long slog and I got very dusty (and achy) but I was very pleased with the end result. I even got very pedantic and accordingly labelled all the boxes. Maria Kondo would be proud.
Jack had a very productive day of three different zoom meetings. Amy carried on with her fun fun fun reading. Dad enjoyed trying out the new trailer on his tractor, all the fun at the farm. Mum made scones, Jack’s absolute favourite ‘If these weren’t bad for you, I just wouldn’t eat anything else.’ She used the sourdough starter and they were well risen, light and fluffy (just call me Paul). Amy got creative (ish) in the kitchen by making a ‘Dalgona Coffee’ which is a whipped coffee that’s been floating around on the internet as of lately. You begin by whipping a silly amount of instant coffee, sugar and water to make a frothy cream which you then place over milk and stir in. It had me BUZZING but it tasted great.
Mum and Amy went on a little evening stroll around the lakes and guess what? They did come back and report some interesting sightings. The horse was pleased to see them and gave them a little hello. They watched the tadpoles swimming around in the lake, as well as finding a singular duck egg hiding in the grass. We’re praying for some baby ducklings to join us on the farm.
We had a bit of a games evening with a random selection of games that Amy selected. Starting off with our Early Learning Centre Snakes and Ladders… throw back. Not the most riveting game but we did enjoy Amy having to go down the first snake on the board at least four times. Next up was ‘sort it out’ where you have to order 5 things ascending or descending in height/age/number of eyes etc etc. We finished with a family favourite, Obama Llama, another Big Potato game. The game is created on the concept of rhyming celebrities names with words/actions, e.g Lorraine Kelly makes a jelly. There’s different cards for acting them out, describing and guessing. Mum absolutely nailed the acting round (shame on me).
