Dear Isolation #37

Jack declared yesterday as the beginning of a three day weekend. ‘How is that different to any other day?’ I asked. ‘You can start drinking at 12 on the weekend.’ he replied.

We started our crazy weekend with some not so crazy yoga, following an ‘energising’ yoga video from ‘Yoga with Adrienne’. I enjoyed the appearance of her dog who would wander in and out of the frame and plonk himself wherever he wished. There was also a move which basically involved just shaking your hips and arms from side to side for about a minute which we enjoyed as it took no level of stamina or flexibility.

Mum and Dad decide to begin tackling the garage and dad’s addiction to cardboard boxes. Mum was very proud of the fact that she managed to convince him to get rid of enough boxes to fill the whole of his trailer, all tightly compacted together. Another few gems found were ‘moon shoes’ (anyone remember these?) and a paddling pool that must be nearly 20 years old. Mum declared that we were to have a pool party and filled the pool up with the 1.5cm depth of water it could handle (it was also on a hill so not evenly distributed) however we decided this was not inviting enough (nor was it warm enough) to get into our swimwear. Maybe one day we might convince Jack to try it out.

We had preordered Hogs and hops again for tonight, take out feels like the most exciting thing at the moment. Jack outdid us all with his burger choice, fried chicken with buffalo sauce and wotsit dust (as well as some other things). We tried out their puddings this time too – lemon meringue pie and chocolate tart. They were nice but not as good as the savoury, maybe we are just pudding snobs because we get it so good with Amy. We all needed a lie down after though.

Jack had another games night with his pals over zoom, I might join next week (If i don’t cramp his style). Meanwhile Amy and I watched videos of Disney World wishing really badly that we were there, the Disney blues never goes away.
