Dear Isolation #47

So when I was finally in a physical state to do some exercise (aka I can walk without waddling), what video did Amy choose? Bum and abs. It was less horrific than the HITT so can still walk today and was grateful for it putting me in a good head space on a Monday morning.

It was a very bitty Monday, everyone trying to power through their to-do lists that have been building up over the weekend – really exciting things like sending emails and unblocking drains (glamorous quarantine life). Amy spent a large chunk of the day tending to her bread in her fancy new proving basket. It also came with a little knife for drawing snazzy patterns on the top of bread (like they do on bake off) which Amy nailed with a cool criss-cross pattern. Mum also nailed cutting her finger, the knife fought back. Amy delivered first aid aka she put on a plaster. Her bread just keeps getting better and better though (despite the injuries), mum’s review was ‘people would pay for this bread.’

Amy and mum went for the daily stroll around the wood, they made it up the hill without stopping – that was their main achievement. The blue bells are still in their prime but there’s only so many arty blue bell pictures you can take.

Mum popped up her at home hairdressers yesterday and gave Dad’s hair a trim, leaving a lovely tan line where his hair had been. I think Jack might be getting the cutters out for me in the next couple of days, I’m appreciating his mop more than he is.

In the evening Jack and I watched the current NT Live stream of ‘Frankenstein’, there’s two version’s.. one with Benedict Cumberbatch as the creature and Jonny Lee Miller as Frankenstein and then another with the roles swapped. We watched Benedict as the creature which he did an incredibly job at,  to the point it was quite uncomfortable to watch. As a whole, I didn’t love it but Jack enjoyed it more than me. I just felt like the script was a bit lacking and I wasn’t really invested in the characters/plot, the set/design was incredible though.
