Dear Isolation #52

Wasn’t yesterday just the most beautiful weather? It feels like a life time ago with today’s grey skies.

We started Saturday off with a sweaty full body workout, the door was flung over mid way through as we couldn’t handle the 21 degrees it was showing in the living room.

I spent most of the day outside, with factor 30 on of course. Mum and I spent a good few hours making postcards that we are going to send to people in care homes. Using pinterest as an inspiration, we drew and wrote some positive pictures and quotes, Jack had a go but his was definitely not appropriate! We also played a game of Banagrams outside which was particularly stressful for me as I ended up picking up way too many Q, X and Z’s.

I cheekily treated myself to a Switch a week or so ago, after yearning to play Animal crossing. They’ve been out of stock for months but I managed to track one down and it’s definitely going to get me through lock down. I really enjoyed sitting in the sunshine and setting up my deserted (Covid free) Island town – very calming.

As the weather cooled in the evening we took a stroll to the woods, this time joined by Jack. The bluebells have started to wither but there was a blooming field of buttercups. There was a pheasant immersed in the buttercups and I jokingly said that we should set of a ‘pheasants in flowers’ Instagram page – any takers? As we were walking back, Jack said the only thing the farm was missing was fields growing fruit and veg. If he’s here long enough he’ll be a fully fledged vegetable farmer and have set up his own brewery.
