The days and hours really are blurring into one.
Wednesday… what happened Wednesday? We got a delivery! Mum ordered from a newly opened local craft business called ‘Alma Branch crafts’ as a little surprise for us. She ordered an adorable framed print titled ‘these little piggies stayed home’ with a different pig illustration for all 5 of us with our names underneath. It’s a very lovely little momento of this funny time. She also ordered one as a gift for someone but we cannot reveal any more than that… Myself and my pal Jodi have also been supporting small business and ordered our friend Lizzie some personalised items from Etsy including a beautiful bee bookmark with her initials embossed on.
Mum’s been working hard on her scrubs and finished her first set, she modelled them for size and says they are very comfortable and might have to steal the pattern. Apparently Kettering General are now requesting 7,000 sets so she’s got a lot of sewing to do now.
Yesterday Amy and Mum decided to pick up some supplies and walk into town (madness). They went up and over the hill and braved the terrifying place that is Aldi, Amy had the easier job of sitting in the sunshine. They then made the most of being able to sit on a bench and shared two ice creams, Amy was reminded of how much she loves Soleros. It was 45 minutes there and 51 minutes back (the 15 packet of eggs probably attributed to this!).
Jack and I went on a much shorter walk around the lakes, we were amazed at the thousands of tadpoles we saw (slightly terrifying when they all turn into toads!). The duck’s didn’t stop to say hello and the swans have moved on sadly but we appreciated the fresh air and blue skies.
Yesterday evening after I finished work we had our weekly family quiz. Grandma and Grandad managed to be only 15 minutes late this time. Mum and I were in charge this week and mum decided to mix it up with bingo. We had to write out of our numbers using prompts such as ‘shoe size’ ‘height in inches’ ‘house number’ etc and she used a random number generator (fancy stuff). It wasn’t quite Bongo’s bingo but it was fun and we all get very competitive. I made a photo round to have intermittently between the bingo rounds. I made a powerpoint with questions about old family photos, rewarding points obviously for the right answers and bonus points for funny answers (this was mainly for Jack!). We all had a giggle, Jack got very creative although Grandma ending up winning both bingo and the quiz. Jack’s reward for top banter was being put in charge of the quiz for next week.. god help us.
