I had a very restless night’s sleep (I am not a fan of sleeping in this sticky heat!) so decided an extra hour in bed would be beneficial, mainly for everyone else’s sanity. I therefore missed out on the intensive cardio workout that Mum and Amy did (oh what a shame!).
It was my turn to be social yesterday and Jodi came to visit me again, this time without a dog (too hot for four legged friends!). I mean, too hot for Megan really. I took her up to the country park, she had never been there either and we wen’t on an hour and a half (ish) walk. We ended up at the golf course, I had never been that far before. It was very quiet and we only ended up seeing one dog but it did have a bandanna on which I think made up for it.
We then sat by the lakes and had a picnic and a natter for a couple of hours. The swans are back, or at least I think it’s the same pair, but they didn’t take much notice of us or our sandwiches. We were surprised by how long and how much we had to talk about considering that we hadn’t really left the house since we last spoke but it was 100% appreciated by the both of us – really does make things feel a bit normal.
Mum and Amy also went for a walk, despite their aching bums and got some very cute lamb photos. They have grown massively but are still adorable. Next door have also decided to keep them, can say I’m quite pleased that they aren’t gonna become lamb chops!
Everyone else was very productive – dad working, Amy working tirelessly on her very ambitious quiz for Wednesday night, Mum making more scrubs and face masks and Jack has started an online child psychology course with the Open University. He also had a couple of zoom meetings, which seems to be a daily occurrence in this household.
In the evening we watched the first half of ‘Street Car Named Desire’ filmed at the Young Vic with Gillian Anderson (babe) and Vanessa Kirby. I haven’t read or watched any Tennesse Williams before so am going into it blind but am enjoying it, Gillian Anderson’s Blanche is very captivating. We couldn’t hack the 3 hour stint so we are going to finish the rest today.
