Dear Isolation #72 & #73

Today you are being treated (or not!) to a guest blogger …. It’s Sally, so get ready for worse than usual banter, very average puns and probably quite atrocious spelling and grammar!

We spent Friday morning recovering from Jacks birthday celebrations which involved hunting down the ping pong balls which had gone missing during the game of beer pong Quidditch.  We found them eventually hidden amongst the shoes, we should have used our noses rather than our eyes as they still smelt rather strongly of ouzo.

We did manage a workout too but I really can’t remember what, it’s all becoming a blur after 70+ workouts!  I think it was Saturday morning when Amy got us doing a new 30 minute strength workout which involved way too many dumbbells and squats.  We had some giggles at some of the moves – there was one where we were supposed to do a sort of bunny hop and kick our feet in the air in a sort of semi-handstand, needless to say we didn’t even try that move!

Jacks sister and niece visited on Friday for a socially distanced picnic with Jack and Megan.  They had a lovely time and Jacks niece, who is 7, loved meeting the cows and hand feeding them some grass.

Amy and I ventured to M&S food to pick up an online order.  Obviously we had to buy some food whilst we were there.  Percy Pig sweets being top of the list, closely followed by Percy Pig ice-cream – prizes for guessing who wrote this list?  Amy stayed in the car and sent me into the wilds of M&S alone, wearing my flowery mask I braved the queue and survived the ordeal –would have loved a leisurely browse but that’s a thing of the past for now.

Friday evening saw me and Amy going on an hours walk to balance the M&S goodies. We didn’t go till after 7pm but it was still very warm.  We saw some lambs that were only days old and Amy nearly cried at the cuteness.

On Saturday Tim and our next door neighbour appeared to have a mowing competition going on – we had tractors, ride on mowers and strimmer’s providing the sound track all day long as everything was cut to within an inch of its life.  Jack, Amy and I did a much overdue job and washed the cars – we’d almost forgotten what colour they were and that the windows were actually transparent.  Megan was busy with some reading and work preparation she needed to get done. She also received a surprise gift from one of her friends – a little bracelet with a cute message and virtual ‘air hug’ which she really appreciated.  Little kind gestures mean so much.

In the evening Megan and Jack joined Amy and I for a walk through the woods.  Tim said he’d give it a miss as he’d done over 25000 steps – poor excuse!
