Disappointingly for some of you, Megan is back on the blogging train. Thank you Sally for stepping in yesterday and providing some above average banter.
Sunday did not require an intensive workout, it required yoga for sore legs. This is the only yoga routine that we can convince Amy to do because it’s basically just a glorified stretch with more breathing – she doesn’t enjoy the excessive breathing though.
Jack ventured out to meet a friend to play football golf at Delapre. He had assumed his friend had booked, surprise he had not, so they couldn’t play on the golf course and instead just had a kick about at the race course. I think Jack was secretly glad of this so not to add to his sunburn.
While Dad built a bridge, casually, the gals went on a trip out to Badby. We only managed 2 minutes before we had to turn back to the car to plaster up Amy’s feet – this was an omen. We had to battle bugs, nettles and paths that were definitely not wide enough to maintain social distance. We also had to master opening up the kissing gates with our elbows (what a time!), mum opted to using just one finger and then sanitising the isolated finger. We enjoyed the walk much more when we got to the wood’s as it was much cooler and less over grown, we did have to limbo under a few fallen trees though.
The village has recently opened a little shop next to the pub with basic house essentials, fruit and veg, tea and coffee and most importantly ice cream. It had very quaint village shop vibes. Amy got a chocolate icecream and Me and the mother went for a lemon sorbet, we sat on a blanket on the village green and were very content doing so. A trip to a village 10 minutes down the road now feels like a right day out. We also had a nosey at the primary school we used to go to for nostalgia purposes and it looked very different with a new extension, Amy did not approve of the architecture.
We had a chill evening playing games including a film and TV game that Jack got for his birthday. I kept getting questions on Soaps which meant everyone else was half way round the board and I had only moved one space for the majority. Dad won, which is surprising with Jack’s vast film knowledge.
