I am back on the blogging, muchos gracias to the mother for standing in while my brain was elsewhere.
There was an early wake up on Wednesday (for some!) as the long awaited new sofas arrived. My attempts to encourage a rethink in home decor were ignored and they ordered the same sofas but in a different colour – revolutionary. I do approve of the bluey/grey tone though. The night before Mum managed to find someone via Facebook to collect the old sofas, so luckily we didn’t have to go too long with a living room so full of sofas you could barely move.
I met up with Jodi again on Wednesday for a walk up around the country park, we did the full loop which took us over 2 hours! Dogs were plentiful and we sat on two benches overlooking potentially the worst view of Daventry. We ate our packed lunches (very 2006) in the garden and just as we said our goodbyes it began pissing it down – smashed our timings.
On Wednesday evening after I finished work we had the family zoom quiz hosted by the one and only Sal dog. She decided to host her own version of family fortunes with real money prizes (oooooh!). We separated into teams – The Pillys, The McFieldings, Jack and Crew (no prizes for who came up with that name) and The Late Ones. The competition appeared to be close but Jack and crew smashed it out the park (mainly by stealing all of The Pilly’s points) and went home with a staggering 14p.
With my sewing skills much inferior to Amy and mum I ordered myself another paint by numbers to keep me occupied – this time of a harbor. Jodi had mentioned wanting one so I ordered her one for some lock down entertainment – she’s a spa therapist so isn’t going back to work any time soon! Jack and I dropped it round yesterday on an errand run which coincidentally saw us driving straight into the Starbucks drive-through – how did that happen? We also popped to get a few food bits and much to Amy’s delight Jack hunted down some yearned after Soleros – perfect weather for icecream.
I had another evening of Zoom. I watched a live Q&A with Simon Stephens, a playwright best known for his stage adaptation of ‘A Curious Incident of a dog in the Night time’ which was very interesting and inspiring. This was then followed by work – which I’ve only got 4 weeks left of before Summer(!). While I was working Dad, Mum and Amy took a walk up the country park which was both wet and lacking in dogs – sucks to be them.
We have had much interest and excitement regarding the recent purchase and review of a she wee, I am sorry to disappoint but due to high demand there is a stock shortage so we are still waiting on delivery. Something to look forward to hey? (I think I’ll leave that one to mum)
