We made, we got to the big 100. Never did I imagine that life would still feel so strange after 100 days but here we are.
Saturday day time is a bit of a blur but I remember that Mum and I started the day off right with a full-body yoga flow. I also did a lot of painting and quiz preparation – I’m in charge this week.
Late afternoon Jack set himself up watching the football in the cinema room with some tinnies and was a very happy boy. Even happier when Man U won. While we was watching the footie I got myself dressed up for our 60s themed zoom murder mystery party that evening. Mum found a 60s style dress she’d worn for a party a few years ago, which was basically a top on me but the joy of Zoom is that you can’t see from the waist down. I searched on Pinterest for 60s inspired makeup which I attempted and put my hair up in the best beehive I could.
Jack in turn got ready in about 5 minutes. His character was a snobby wine connoisseur so he donned a shirt, blazer and cravate. We ordered Chinese take out to eat alongside, the classiest of dinner party dishes.
The game worked by following a DVD and we each had individual booklets that we referred to for dialogue/discussion points, a bit confusing to first get the hang of but fun once we got there. We were uncovering the murder of ‘Lord Micheal Jagged’ (my character’s ex-lover) who was the host of the dinner party we were attending, it was revealed that he was killed by a device that released toxic gas that was fitted into the cork of a champagne bottle.
I was unsure of the identity of the murderer for a while but living with Jack for three months meant I was in a pretty good place to work out when he was lying and were my instincts correct? Damn right they were. Of course it was the wine connoisseur that committed the champagne murder.
After our late one Saturday night, Sunday was a slow one. Dad tended to the cows, Amy baked some cookies and Mum did some sewing. We did take a blustery walk to the country park in the evening between showers which we appreciated to blow the cobwebs away. No dogs or humans for that matter were seen but I was grateful considering my rather obscure outfit choice.
